Dr. Nadim Aziz is the Director of the SC EPSCoR/IDeA Program and has responsibility to develop, implement and oversee comprehensive and integrated research strategies and programs for the State Office. This includes STEM education and workforce development at the K-12, technical college, undergraduate and graduate level statewide, as well as broadening institutional and organizational participation. He provides research administrative and programmatic oversight for all SC EPSCoR federal programs and oversees the operations, personnel and budgetary matters of the State Office. Before becoming Director, Dr. Aziz served as a faculty member and Chair of Civil Engineering, Associate Provost for faculty development, and Interim VP for Academic Affairs and Provost and Interim Dean of the Graduate school at Clemson University. He taught courses in applied fluid mechanics and conducted research for state, federal and private sponsors. Dr. Aziz received his B.S.C.E, M.S. and Ph.D. in Engineering Science from the University of Mississippi.

Cyndy Buckhaults serves as the Communications Manager of the SC EPSCoR/IDeA Program. Cyndy has over 25 years of experience in the design and communications fields working in various situations from a father and son ad agency to an agency with almost 150 employees, to owning her own freelance firm for over a decade, to working in a creative capacity in a university setting. She brings to SC EPSCoR a wide range of skills including copywriting, web and print design, social media, marketing, event planning, photography and more. Her work has garnered American Advertising Federation (AAF) ADDY® Awards, Silver Microphone awards for radio and television ads, as well as AAF Regional and National Awards for Club Management as past president of the Athens AdClub, Athens, Georgia.

April Heyward serves as the Program Manager of the SC EPSCoR/IDeA Program. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Benedict College, Master of Research Administration (MRA) from the University of Central Florida (UCF), and Furman University Richard W. Riley Diversity Fellow. She serves on the UCF MRA Advisory Board. April is a member of the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), ASPA Section on Science and Technology in Government, ASPA South Carolina Chapter, and the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA). She has been published in multiple peer reviewed publications and her research interests include evidence based approaches to STEM research infrastructure and STEM workforce development.

Denise White serves as the Financial Manager of the SC EPSCoR/IDeA Program. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina and currently working on the Master of Art in Organizational Leadership from Regent University. Denise has fifteen plus years of experience in financial, accounting, and budget management. Her experience includes preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements; accounts receivables, accounts payables; creating and processing invoices; and bank reconciliations for multiple accounts. She is an experienced trainer in financial management practices.
